On October 9th, CEO Luke Norris and his Faction Cloud team rocked it out at the Rocky Mountain Entrepreneurial Summit, an annual event that is built for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs. It was an informative day that provided Colorado’s entrepreneurial community with invaluable networking opportunities, exciting speakers and so much inspiration.
The day kicked off with an inspiring keynote speech from Amy Van Dyken, a six-time Olympic champion swimmer. In June of 2014, she was injured in an ATV accident and severed her spinal cord leaving her paralyzed from the waist down, but instead of letting that hinder her dreams, she worked that much harder to take back her health both mentally and physically. Immediately following Amy was John Jacobs, the co-founder of the Life is Good company. Even though John lacked business experience, his hard work, ongoing dedication and a bit of good luck, lead him to creating the company known for spreading optimism throughout the world.
After lunch and networking, Lance Armstrong took the stage to speak of his tremendous cycling career and his battle with Cancer. No journey is without its occasional speed bump and Lance’s story is no exception. Hearing him speak was remarkable and reminded us all that powering through disappointment and hardship is essential for professional and personal growth. Finally we heard from Aron Ralston, the subject of the film 127 Hours. Aron brought with him a vivid story of survival that proved perseverance really is everything. After a day of awe-inspiring stories, it was off to the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater for VIP tailgating and a private concert with colleagues and friends.
Thank you Rocky Mountain Entrepreneurial Summit for an incredible event; we are already counting down the days until next year’s.
