The cloud is soaring above even the expectations of those who thought it would do well this year. As businesses continue to migrate to the cloud, more organizations are taking a look at what it has to offer. Many leaders are unaware of the power of the hybrid cloud, which can be a highly useful element of a mobile strategy for those who want to convert to the cloud like many of the other current companies are, but are unsure about storing all of their data online. Hybrid cloud computing allows organizations to use the advantages of cloud computing while still keeping a cache of highly sensitive data diligent care of sensitive files like law firms and hospitals are using the hybrid cloud format in order to comply with industry-specific standards. This adaptable kind of cloud is fundamentally more suited to a larger variety of businesses than the public cloud due to its ability to do what the users want.

Cloud computing strongly supported
Nine out of ten respondents to Evolve IP's 2014 survey of IT decision makers believe that cloud computing is the future model of IT, according to Network Computing. Eighty-one percent of those respondents had at least one service in the cloud, and even those who were unconvinced had 1.4 cloud services working for them. The advantages of cloud computing are such that it is easy to gradually delve into cloud computing over time as a business gains more trust in the cloud model. The fundamental difference between the hybrid cloud and the other types of cloud computing is that a hybrid platform can be adopted piecemeal, using just a few cloud services at once before the organization using them decides to go all in or just expand cloud service until a company has all of the mobile applications that it needs.

Unlike other forms of cloud computing, the hybrid cloud allows organizations to simply wait until they feel safe enough to put many different types of information on the cloud. A hybrid cloud could simply be used for files for employees who travel frequently – a sales team, for instance, could have all of its relevant spreadsheets stored in the cloud in order to remain in constant contact with its goals and price points. Other individuals within an organization who never work from home or have jobs that simply don't demand always-on accessibility could then keep their files on the traditional model, allowing for an easy blend of two different styles of IT, according to Business 2 Community. Cloud computing doesn't have to involve dragging an entire office kicking and screaming into the future: It can instead be a leisurely stroll toward the cloud, taking whatever works for an organization and leaving what doesn't work behind.

Hybrid cloud allows for more choices
The hybrid cloud is stronger than the traditional public cloud because of its ability to give organizations more choice as to how much of the cloud to adopt and because it allows for organizations to host very sensitive files on a home server. This degree of customizability without giving up the inherent scalability, mobility, or flexibility of the cloud creates a solution that many different kinds of businesses can use. In this way, the advantages of cloud computing are at their strongest in the hybrid cloud because it allows the best side of the cloud to be pronounced. For any organization that is unsure about the cloud, very concerned about security, or simply interested in maintaining a home network while still utilizing the mobility that the cloud can provide, the hybrid cloud is the best option.
