AMAX ServMax Selected for PeakColo’s IaaS Compute Platform
Building & Deploying the Highest Quality Customized Server Platforms in the Industry
Fremont, CA – October 17, 2012. AMAX, a leading innovator of High Performance Computing (HPC), dynamic Enterprise IT, and custom Appliance Manufacturing solutions, today announced its partnership with PeakColo, a premiere Cloud Services Provider, who has selected the ServMax™ line of servers for its Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) compute platform. Hungry for performance and storage capacity, cloud service providers have specific requirements that are defining and shaping the datacenter computing environment by engaging exceptionally dense, power-efficient server architectures to manage the world’s data.
“PeakColo is a leading provider of enterprise-class, white-label Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) for Cloud Computing. We place high demands on our primary vendors – VMware, NetApp, Brocade and AMAX – to provide us with the highest performing, most reliable IaaS,” said Luke Norris, CEO and Founder of PeakColo. “AMAX’s ability to ship systems with Peak’s custom build configuration, fully tested and production-ready upon arrival, has resulted in faster install times for our end users.”
Since June, AMAX has deployed nearly 50 of its latest Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 series, high-density, high-performance ServMax™ nodes to PeakColo’s datacenters that efficiently power their Infrastructure-as-a-Service cloud offering, with plans for additional ServMax™ nodes expected to exceed well into the hundreds by the end of the year. With PeakColo’s enterprise-class, high-bandwidth cloud solutions being delivered out of three Denver, CO, one Seattle, WA and one U.K. datacenter locations, that number is expected to more than double by the end of 2013
“AMAX’s expertise has always been in providing the highest quality, most cost-effective, production-ready open-architecture server solutions the industry has to offer,” said James Huang, Product Manager at AMAX. “The infrastructure support provided to PeakColo using AMAX’s ServMax line is just one example of how AMAX is able to optimize customer- or project-specific cloud solutions as the backbone support for IaaS compute platforms, and we are excited to continue our shared commitment to PeakColo’s vision of a guaranteed 100% SLA.”
As with all AMAX servers, the ServMax™ series configurations can be tailored to each customer’s specific needs by AMAX’s expert Infrastructure Design team as standalone systems or as building blocks for robust clusters, allowing for flexible configurations and to match target budgets.
