Founder and CEO
Luke Norris is the Founder and CEO of Faction. He is responsible for the company’s strategic direction and overall management. Under his expert guidance, Faction has consistently experienced triple-digit growth year over year since 2009. Prior to Faction, Mr. Norris was the Manager of the Integrated Operations Center at SunGard Availability Services, where he was responsible for the operations of over 5 million s.f. of data center space worldwide. While the Sr. Security Officer for Kroll Factual Data, Mr. Norris chaired the Mortgage Information Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO) security group.Mr. Norris holds two technology patents and was a nominee for the Denver Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 award in 2012. Mr. Norris was a distinguished presenter at both VMworld Barcelona and VMworld San Francisco in 2012, discussing “How to Transform Your Business with an Agile Data Infrastructure” and ways to integrate VMware’s vSphere/vCloud director suite with NetApp’s Clustered dataONTAP.
VP of Channel Development
John Drake is the Vice President of Channel Development at Faction (formerly Peak®) an enterprise-class Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud service provider to channel partners. In his role Mr. Drake is responsible for all aspects U.S. partner channel development, including not only partner recruitment but also sales and marketing enablement. Mr. Drake was promoted to his Directorship after holding the Directorship.
Prior to Faction, Mr. Drake served as Commercial Account Manager, Senior Technical Consultant and Senior Systems Engineer at EMC Corporation, where he managed all commercial accounts for their Rocky Mountain Region.
Mr. Drake is in his 15th year volunteering as a senior staff member and camp counselor for the Children’s Hospital of Colorado Burn Camp. He possesses both a MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver as well as a BA in Business from Regis University.
VP of Business Development
As Vice President of Business Development, Josh Mariea is responsible for Faction’s channel development, sales, and enablement strategies. Mr. Mariea was promoted to the role of Vice President after serving as Faction’s Director of Business Development from 2010 to 2011. Under his sales leadership, Faction grew sales over 300 percent and expanded the company’s customer base by over 5000%. Prior to joining Faction, Mr. Mariea served in several sales management roles at technology companies such as ISC and CenturyLink, providing advanced networking solutions to Government, Education, and Commercial markets. In his spare time, Mr. Mariea is surrounded by his wife and daughter, and he enjoys a variety of hobbies, including crossfit, skiing, snowboarding, cycling, and music. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from Colorado State University.
VP of Finance
As Peak's VP of Finance, Brian Kendall is responsible for all daily accounting and financial activities. Mr. Kendall previously held the position of VP of Finance and Operations at RuMe, Inc. overseeing international production and financial aspects of the company. Prior to that, Mr. Kendall was Assistant Controller at New Frontier Media, a publicly traded international media production and distributor to Comcast, Time Warner, BrightHouse, Charter, HBO, and Cablevision. Mr. Kendall is a CPA and holds a MBA from Northeastern University, as well as Bachelors in Accounting and Finance from Texas Tech University.
VP Product Management and Product Development, Solutions Marketing
As the Vice President of Product Management and Product Development, Solutions Marketing, Matt Wallace is responsible for articulating the value of Faction’s highly-customizable private cloud solutions, leading continued innovation, and helping Faction’s Partners and Customers solve the toughest of IT challenges.
Prior to Faction, Mr. Wallace has worked 20 years in technology in roles at both startups and Fortune 500 companies, including leadership roles at Level 3 Communications, ViaWest, Exodus Communications, and others.
Mr. Wallace is the co-author of Securing the Virtual Environment: How to Defend the Enterprise Against Attack, one of the first books to holistically address cloud security concerns.
