Cloud computing, if done correctly, delivers unprecedented cost efficiency, scalability, flexibility, reliability and security. Cloud Computing is a general classification of three services. This allows the end user to pick whichever works best for their business. Faction’s purpose is to provide the most secure, reliable, highest performing, customizable, easiest to use cloud IAAS platform available to small and medium sized businesses nationwide. Here are the three flavors to choose from! three_ice_cream_cones_Fuse.jpg

Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)

IaaS is a type of cloud computing in which a third-party provider hosts virtualized computing resources over the Internet. In this type of model, a third-party provider hosts hardware, servers, network, storage and other infrastructure components on behalf of its users. IaaS platforms can be used for private cloud, public cloud, or hybrid IT environments and offer highly scalable resources that can be adjusted on-demand. This makes IaaS well-suited to manage workloads of all types, from mission-critical applications to those that are temporary, experimental or change unexpectedly.

Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)

The PaaS model is a developer’s platform consisting of tools for building and deploying applications in the language given by the PaaS provider. Enterprises with a focus on internal application development may adopt PaaS solutions such as VMware Cloud Foundry for the simplicity, scalability of application development in-house. PaaS applications also have the latest features without the pain of doing constant upgrades.

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)

SaaS is a way of delivering applications over the Internet—as a service. Instead of installing and maintaining software on your company servers or desktops, you simply access it via the Internet, freeing yourself from the complex management of software and hardware. The provider manages access to the application, including security, availability, and performance.  Salesforce.com is a perfect example of a SaaS application.

Where does Faction fit in?

Faction is an enterprise-class IaaS cloud service provider built from the ground up specifically for enterprise-wide use.  The Faction cloud was designed the way customers want it — featuring deep access, broad customization capabilities and patented Layer 2 private pathways to the Faction cloud. Faction offers private, public and hybrid cloud infrastructure as a service with ultimate control and flexibility.

Typically our customers are already leveraging virtualized resources and operate in a hybrid IT environment, spanning on premise, colocation, and third party IaaS providers.  Businesses choose Faction’s IaaS cloud because they demand FULL control of their management console, plus customized solutions.  Faction offers the deepest control, broadest customization capabilities, and the only patented layer 2 direct connect solution in the marketplace today.  Have a conversation with us and we’ll show you.

Not familiar with Faction’s patented Layer 2 Direct Connect?   It means that with Faction – and only with Faction – will you be able to plug in all of your cloud resources, no matter public, private or on-premise, directly into your new Faction cloud. The beauty of that is that you avoid all the typical migration issues that are practically a “given” with any other IAAS provider. We’re talking about literally eliminating the months of work you’ve been bracing for to re-design your vLANS, vPNs, IP schemas, and topologies. Who says change has to be painful? Faction allows you to be up and running – realizing the fruits of your investment in just a smidge of the time you thought it would take.  No protocol changes – no provider changes necessary.

We really do love our IaaS flavor!  And we really do love Faction’s brand best!
